Where? at the Multi-Faith Chapel (also known as the Rugby Chapel)
Food? Yes! at 6:30. Come and enjoy.
What else? Rob Arthur will be our guest. Rob will tell us what it means for him to be a Christian in his profession at the Corrections Institute here in Saskatoon. He'll also show us and tell us some about his trip with his family to China this summer, his impressions, what he learned, etc.
Afterward...stay to enjoy time with friends playing table games.

2 - Christmas Camp!! Dec. 23-26 at Kinasao Camp on Christopher Lake. Cost: $200 ($150 for first-time attenders)
Registration begins Nov. 1.
- each Tuesday in lower Place Riel (Food Court) from 11:30-12:30
- each Wednesday in lower Place Riel (Food Court) from 1-2pm
- each Friday at Tim Horton's in Geology from 1:30-3pm

We offer you the INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP PROGRAM (IFP), where we match international students with Canadian families for friendship sake. You will receive an invitation once a month to get together with this Canadian family. There is no expense involved, but there ARE many benefits: the chance to know a Canadian family and their customs, things about Saskatoon, and opportunity to practice English. Want to join? Fill out an orange application form which you will find at the ISSAC.The IFP is having its first event on Oct 1, at 6pm: a potluck and variety program. All international students are invited, whether you are already part of the IFP program or not. Transportation will be provided from Browsers on the U of S campus.

- Saturday, Sept 10 - a day trip to Pike Lake

- Saturday, Oct 1 - International Potluck supper

FOCUS Fridays

We've had a great time getting together each first Friday of the month for food, fun, music, an inspirational speaker, games. Why not join us on April 1 at 6:30 at the Rugby Chapel (located between the Grad Student Lounge and College Drive).

July 1 - We rode bikes to Diefenbaker Park to Celebrate Canada, played sports and watched the fireworks.
July 24 - Berry picking, with a stop at the Apple Orchard at Petrofka.

July 31 - Bike Adventure along the Saskatchewan River.

August 1 - Pie making day!

August 7-9 - Summer camp at Camp Oshkidee on Jeanette Lake

You are invited to a gym night Oct. 22 - no charge - at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Just let us know if you need a ride from Seager Wheeler highrise.

FOCUS Friday is a monthly event - each first Friday of the month we are gathering to eat, share stories of Christian faith, to hang out with friends, play games. Whether you are a Christian or not, you are invited. Next FOCUS is Nov. 5.

And of course, Christmas is Coming!! We'll spend Dec. 23-27 in the beautiful north, doing indoor and outdoor activity, enjoying old and new friendships. Registration for camp will begin on Nov. 8. Cost is $250. Here's a picture from last year:

Spring / Summer Schedule 2010

Soccer at Grosvenor Park has begun. 2-4 pm each Saturday. Guys and girls - all are welcome.

Supper and Bible Discussion will continue at 6 pm each Friday till June 18 at the Lutheran Centre at the corner of Wiggins and College Drive.

BBQ on June 25.

There will be day trips during the summer months and a camp in August.

Christmas camp was great! And now there is lots planned for the coming months... a "Fun & Games" gym night this Saturday, Skating party in February, and so on. Get in contact with us for more details.

- Volleyball, floor hockey, or table games... something for everyone.

Thanksgiving Dinner for International Students

Monday, Oct 12 is a holiday to celebrate Thanksgiving. Inter-Varsity is hosting a turkey dinner and program for international students from 4:30 - 8:30. One hundred $5 tickets will be available for purchase from 11:30 to 2:00 each day, beginning Oct. 1 at the Global Commons. YOU MUST PURCHASE A TICKET IN ADVANCE.

Soccer each Sunday

International Friendship Program

We match international students with Canadian families for the purpose of mutual friendship. The goal is to get together with your family once each month for a meal, or a recreational outing in Saskatoon. Application forms for the "International Friendship Program" are available at the International Student Office at the U of S, and can be submitted up till September 20. Matching with Canadian families depends on the number of Canadians who sign up as well.
